Pistachios, when eaten with high-carbohydrate foods, may result in lower than expected blood sugar levels, an important factor in reducing risk of diabetes.
1 package (8 ounce) Cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons Minced celery
1 teaspoon Grated onion
2 tablespoons Beer or cream
¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon Dry mustard
½ cup Cooked shrimp, coarsely chopped
½ cup Chopped natural American pistachios
Crackers or assorted raw vegetables
Blend together cream cheese, celery, onion, beer, Worcestershire sauce and mustard. Stir in shrimp and pistachios. Pack into serving container; chill. Serve with crackers or vegetables.
