Pistachios, when eaten with high-carbohydrate foods, may result in lower than expected blood sugar levels, an important factor in reducing risk of diabetes.
1 package Frozen strawberries
2 tablespoons Sugar
2 teaspoons Corn starch
1 tablespoon Brandy
¼ cup Natural American pistachios, coarsely chopped
Thaw strawberries; drain and reserve ½ cup juice. Combine sugar and cornstarch in small saucepan. Blend in strawberry juice; cook and stir until thickened. Boil 1 minute. Stir in strawberries and brandy. Add pistachios just before serving.
