APG exhibited and sponsored a presentation at NutriMi, "Apractical" nutrition forum, in Milan, Italy, held April 12 -13. APG nutrition expert, Dr. Giorgio Donegani presented the recent research findings of two studies that earned pistachios a SUPERFOOD status: The workplace study that showed how pistachios help boost brain power and concentration levels at work; and the weight study, conducted at the Paul Bocuse Institute in France, which showed that a daily snack of pistachios adds nutrients, not weight.

From April 20 to 21, APG exhibited and sponsored a presentation with celebrity television doctor, Dr. Matthias Riedl at VDD, in Wolfsburg, Germany. Dr. Riedl spoke about American pistachios' benefits for patients with diabetes, heart health problems or weight management issues. He, along with nutrition expert Dr. Wiebke Elsner, also spoke with booth visitors about the latest research findings regarding weight, brain power and gestational diabetes.

APG exhibited at SEEDO (Spanish Society for Study of Obesity) Nutrition Conference in Lleida, Spain, on March 14-16, 2018. The event provided APG the venue to educate Spain's most influential medical professionals about the health benefits of American pistachios for weight management, and to share the latest research findings on pistachios and gestational diabetes. More than 400 nutrition professionals attended the conference.

“I Love American Pistachios” Social Media Blitz in China

The use of short videos in social media is a growing trend, and they are especially popular in China. To raise awareness of the benefits of pistachios for women with gestational diabetes, APG created a miniseries titled, “I Love American Pistachios,” using short videos. The storyline is about a couple who meets, falls in love, marries, gets pregnant and has a healthy baby--all thanks to American pistachios. Each video promotes American pistachios as the perfect gift for love, a healthy pregnancy and a happy family.

World Pistachio Day In Spain

APG celebrated World Pistachio Day, in Spain, with the promotion of their new campaign, “The Snack for Those Who Don’t Snack.” During the month of February, a campaign banner was displayed on a stairway of the underground subway entrance near the Plaza Catalunya Central Station of Barcelona, while four city busses, with a campaign wrap, traveled the main avenues of Barcelona. On World Pistachio Day, February 26, more than 4,700 sample bags of pistachios were given to subway riders, near the stairway.

In December, APG partnered with Germany's popular women's lifestyle's publications Frau im Leben and Plus Magazin for a holiday raffle. The prize was a month's supply of American pistachios, along with an Amazon Wireless Speaker. The raffle, promoted by both publications, in print and online, was viewed by more than 878 million consumers.

French Fitness Bloggers Promote Health Benefits of Pistachios

In January, APG teamed with four of France's top fitness bloggers to increase awareness of the health and weight-loss benefits of American pistachios on the social media platform Instagram. The campaign reached more than 111,000 active consumers, with over 9,200 sharing, liking and commenting on the APG's posts about health, exercise and a nutritious diet that includes pistachios.
