In December, APG partnered with Germany's popular women's lifestyle's publications Frau im Leben and Plus Magazin for a holiday raffle. The prize was a month's supply of American pistachios, along with an Amazon Wireless Speaker. The raffle, promoted by both publications, in print and online, was viewed by more than 878 million consumers.

French Fitness Bloggers Promote Health Benefits of Pistachios

In January, APG teamed with four of France's top fitness bloggers to increase awareness of the health and weight-loss benefits of American pistachios on the social media platform Instagram. The campaign reached more than 111,000 active consumers, with over 9,200 sharing, liking and commenting on the APG's posts about health, exercise and a nutritious diet that includes pistachios.

“Happy Family” Contest in China

In Shanghai, APG partnered with Mum & Baby Talk, one of China’s top three magazines for moms-to-be (250,000 subscribers) for a "Happy Family" contest. Three hundred and twenty-three families participated in the contest. The event also generated twenty-eight articles about the health and nutritional benefits of American pistachios.

Owned by Shanghai Family Planning Association and China Eugenics Association, Mum & Baby Talk's goal is to deliver nutrition and care information for new moms during their entire pregnancy.

FRESNO, Calif., June 2, 2017---The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) determined today, by a unanimous vote of 5 to 0, that revoking the U.S. antidumping duty order on imports of raw in-shell pistachios from Iran would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to the U.S. pistachio industry within a reasonably foreseeable time.

Arizona, New Mexico pistachio growers emerge as important contributors to state economies

FRESNO, CA – March 5, 2018 – Pistachio growers and processors create nearly $3.6 billion in economic output in the state of California, generating jobs and spending across multiple sectors of the state’s economy, according to a new economic impact study announced today at the 11th Annual Pistachio Industry Conference today by American Pistachio Growers.

When it comes to heart and health and pistachio nutrition, there is scientific research that suggests pistachio nutrition supports a strong heart and healthy blood vessels. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recognizes that tree nuts, including pistachios, can be part of a heart healthy diet: scientific evidence suggests but does not prove that eating 1.5 ounces per day of most nuts, such as pistachios, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may lower the risk of heart disease.

In Spain, APG held a journalist event with Dr. Nieves Palacios. In Dr. Palacios’ presentation, “Temptations vs. “Superfoods,” she spoke about the nutritional benefits that make pistachios a “superfood,” and food-swapping unhealthy snacks for healthful snacks, such as pistachios. Eight journalists from key health and fitness publications attended the event.
