American Shell


Pistachio Orgeat
¾ cup of Pistachios, peeled
¾ cup Sugar
½ cup Water
1 oz Vodka

1/3 oz Pistachio Orgeat
1 ¼ oz Johnnie Walker Double Black Whisky
¾ oz Lime juice
2 Basil leaves
Dash Absenta
Pinch of salt
Garnish: Pistachios


Pistachio Orgeat:
Blend the pistachios and soak with water for 2 hours. Afterwards, with a super bag or muslin, strain twice and discard the pistachios. Add the sugar to the mixture. Heat until dissolved. Set aside and let cool. Once cooled, add vodka for better conservation.

Combine all ingredients in shaker tin filled with ice and shake. Pour in an old fashioned glass. Garnish with 3 or 4 pistachios on the top of the cocktail.
