Savory Pistachio Turnovers

8 turnovers.

Loaf frozen bread dough
¼ pound Each ground beef and pork
1 cup Shredded cabbage
¼ cup Onion, chopped
2 tablespoons Beef broth or water
½ teaspoon Caraway seeds
¼ teaspoon Salt
1/8 teaspoon Ground black pepper
½ cup Natural American pistachios, chopped
¼ cup Dairy sour cream
Melted butter


Thaw bread dough according to package directions; set aside while preparing filling. Brown ground beef and pork in skillet over medium heat; drain. Stir in cabbage, onion, broth and seasonings. Bring to boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer 10 to 15 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Remove from heat; stir in pistachios and sour cream. Roll dough into a 15-inch square. Cut into eight 5-inch circles. Spoon about ¼ cup filling on half of each circle. Bring edges together like turnovers; pinch to seal. Place on greased baking sheet and allow to rise 15 to 20 minutes. Bake at 325° F. 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven; brush with melted butter.
